GST is a tax on the supply of goods and services in New Zealand. When a registered person sells goods as part of their taxable activity they are required to pay the GST portion of the sale (which is currently 15%) to the Inland Revenue Department. However, it is also possible to claim the GST portion of any expense associated to the taxable activity which will offset the amount of GST payable. The Inland Revenue Department require a business to be GST registered if their annual turnover is over $60,000. We prefer our clients to be linked to Banklink where most of your bank transactions can be automatically coded, enabling you to spend more time working in and on your business. As Banklink is integrated with MYOB, we can then upload your data to MYOB which makes processing your GST more cost effective. If you would like information on registering your business for GST or if you have a GST enquiry please contact us.
